Angelica sinensis is mostly used by women as it helps to regulate the menstrual cycle, balance and treat many female systems and cycles, control dysmenorrhea, combat premenstrual tension, resume normal menstruation after using birth control pills, improve fetal nourishment during pregnancy, reduce menstrual cramps, menorrhagia (excessive loss of blood during a period), premenstrual syndrome (PMS), produce a balancing effect on estrogen activity, reduce spontaneous uterine contractions, regulate uterine contractions, regulate uterine function, stimulate as well as relaxe uterine muscles, stimulate the uterus during childbirth, strengthen internal reproductive organs, stop uterine bleeding and uterine cramping.
Angelica sinensis is also good to treat menopausal symptoms as hot flushes, and other discomfort due to menopause.

Caution:
High doses of Dong Quai can cause some fair-skinned people to become more sensitive to sunlight causing rashes and skin inflammation.
